Or I guess the question should be, how much more damage would it do while we slowly recover & rebuild as we currently are.

As of right now the word everywhere is the odds are against a 2010 NFL season Happening.

There will still be NCAA of course, but obviously it can't make up for the absence of pro football.....

Lockout won't be until 2011 season the 2010 season is safe but is uncapped.

NFL owners did this before 2008 season

ATLANTA -- The NFL officially notified its players union on Tuesday that it will opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement, which could lead to a season without a salary cap in 2010 and a possible lockout in 2011.

Owners voted unanimously Tuesday morning to opt out of the deal, which was extended in March 2006. The NFL had until November to opt out, but decided to do it early instead of waiting for the deadline.

The league, however, emphasized that it will keep negotiating with the NFL Players Association and said games will be played "without threat of interruption for at least the next three seasons." (2008,2009,2010)

I can see the MAC, Sun Belt, and CUSA doing this. I could also see more college games lined widespread to help make up some loss.

There WILL be a lockout, plan on it. This is a battle between owners, the players are caught in the middle.
