Love the studio version. At the end of the song he says "Fucking long in'it"

Song was influenced by the early rap stuff in NYC. Great tune.

That clip is from the 1983 "Us" festival in California that was put on by Steve Wozniak of Apple Computer. It's one of the first gigs with new drummer Pete Howard. It was also the very last Clash gig with Mick Jones. Joe and Paul kicked him out after the gig. A move, I believe, Joe eventually regretted. I saw the band 9 times.

Life can be pretty boring, but of the 9 times I saw the Clash, the matinee at Bond's International Casino in Times Square on June 13, 1981 was an exciting experience. At that event, I climbed onstage (with about 100-200 others) near the end of the gig. The stage lights best represented my impression of what it would be like to be on the surface of the sun.

Here's some FM audio from Bond's a few days (june 9) before that gig...

I believe you may be referring to Mick Jones. He is not Jerry Seinfeld. After "The Clash", he went on to form the band "Big Audio Dynamite". They created some great numbers. Here's one of those (this one actually features Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon of the Clash) ...
