well thank goodness this is the last night i have to stay up til the morning.
it has been affecting my capping and other things - love this event though as these late plays provides a chance for isolated action
roger fed- strengths - at this moment in time everything is clicking for him. he is fit. has his game face on. his serve is better than it used to be. he is the best at hitting great shots while running. his forehand is good. net game good.
weaknesses- only thing right now i see is that his backhand is vulnerable. his backhand is defensive. his backhand slice is deep and defensive but his topspin backhand is often hit short - and that is where he can be exploited.
so his backhand right now is his only sore spot
andy murray strengths. good net game. fit. able to make good shots like fed on the run. serve is effective
weaknesses- unforced errors. patience. mental game is not there yet. doesn't prefer long rallies. if andy doesn't correct this tonight he is toast.
what andy must do to win - take a page and video from what del potro did when he beat fed in the us open. that is be patient. out rally fed and keep hitting to fed's achilles heel- his backhand. when he hits short on his backhand andy must come to the net and put away a winner.
what fed must do- if andy does the above he must cheat to the backhand side and hit his inside out forehand instead of his backhand.
if andy doesn't hit to fed's backhand then all fed has to do is be roger federer and win . simple as that.
i would love to see someone else win. therefore the first brit since what 1934 to win a major would be nice to see.
i just don't like fed to be honest. although he has improved his game when he was losing. however when he had no good tennis players to play him... fed was agonizing to watch. tons of unforced errors a useless backhand and yet he still won. won real ugly. mens tennis was brutal after aggassi and sampras.
i just don't see andy taking my coaching view. if i was in his coaching box i would trust andy more. i don't know if i trust his coaches to tell him to hit to fed's backhand
i don't know if want to lay -170ish on this either
so i am not playing this and will enjoy this as a fan.
if u want some guidance and u don't mind the juice i would take r fed.
seems he starts his season off with a bang and let's hope it is downhill from here - tsonga or murray to win wimbledon----hopefully they can learn from fed not to get too emotional during the game.
