I Know what Most of you will say...Why not use Firefox !

But I Use IE 8 with most of the things I do.

Anyway.......I click on a Site or pull up a page...and IE just Hangs
This happens about 5-6 times a day...sometimes More

So I need to Close, and Restart the Program.

Should I just Uninstall IE 8, and download it again ?
Is it My Add-ons for IE 8 ??

Any Help ? Thanks

How about open IE 8 and Under Tool or Help...click on check for updates...Your IE 8 probably needs some update files from Microsoft to keep it stable...

I agree with Vinny, but suggest that yes - you first Uninstall and then reinstall IE8

Or just switch to Firefox

Tools ..... manage addons ...... close some of the shit that automatically starts up when you use IE8. Also closing the 'Favorites' Bar might help, since it's really just a duplicate anyway. I would also suggest rightclicking on Task Manager to see what else is running on your PC.

Some things just plain work better with IE as opposed to FireFox. Depends what you use it for.

Advice much appreciated.

I have just re-installed my IE8 and my PC is working fine. I also use Firefox sometimes. However regardless of the browser or version IE7 or 8 etc. whenever I play a video especially You-Tube the playback hesitates for 4 or 5 seconds every 9 or 10 seconds for the entire video. Needless to say this is extremely aggravating.

Any suggestions on a repair method.

I had a problem last week or so, runtime error... When I would pull up a page would be very sluggish and then the runtime error would occur. BAS, do you have the Google tool bar installed? Goto control panel add remove and look for it, it's incompatible with IE8.. Remove it and see if that helps. My ultimate resolution was to reset IE to it's original settings and that worked. Windows pop up in IE lightning fast now.

To reset: Toolz, internet options, advanced, reset

Just to add to this Geek conversation: If your have Adobe u may wanna do a google cuase if your not running the current version (patch) u could be hacked. There are multiple app/problems involved with a leak in IE which allow a hackers to take over your computer.

Make sure you have Windows update auto enabled because there are so many exploits coming out every week know one could keep up with Microsofts patches.

When you are in the manage add on area, you'll see how long it takes for some applications to load. It's best to disable them and not worry about them. Resource hogs and time wasters. Definelty disable all the MSFT corporations bs stuff.

That should help all.

also BAS goto Trendmicro and run the free scan, if the scan won't run you don't have an updated version of Flas, whaich is also affected with a hole "Buffer overflow"

Should have just posted in my original post, do a search on "buffer overflow"

No, no Google tool bar......Might try to Reset before I uninstall

My problem is also sometimes when I close a Window....The Mouse/Icon just spins for ever....and the Onlt thing I can do is Close the Program
which means I need to Restore where I was...or Go to Home page and start over again.

I had this with Vista as well, but not like this...
