The proposed contract would includes annual salaries of $9.5 million, $12.5 million and $15 million, according to the report. Shea writes that the Lincecum camp countered with a proposal greater than $40 million. Assistant general manager Bobby Evans wouldn't confirm or deny the offer, and while he acknowledged that talks are "ongoing," he said that he hasn't spoken with Lincecum's people in 72 hours. It's at least good news to hear that the two sides are negotiating a multi-year contract, especially with an arbitration hearing looming rather large on Friday. Lincecum requested $13 million and was offered $8 million when arbitration figures were exchanged last month. He stands a good chance of winning and making history as a first-time arbitration-eligible player if it goes to a hearing.
