"middle class" is defined as the median income (50% make more, 50% make less), which in the US is $36k. The half the people that earn over $36k pay 95% of all taxes.

Most tax payers who receive a refund have over paid. In effect, you have given the US Gov an interest free loan. That's a bad job.

You should site down with your human resource dept and figure out the correct witholding for your income level. You should aim for a $200 window owe/receive.

Why would you allow the Gov to hold on too more money than allowed?
