Anyone can live cheaply most places. What makes it so great to do in Vegas is if you take in $20 per week from the casinos, it covers a decent enough chunk of expenses to make you feel like your close enough to being a professional gambler
Four dollars is the lowest someone can still eat well on. But it doesn't take too much more to actually approach luxury/gourmet if you know what you're doing, so I enjoy spending a little more
i do all the grocery shopping and all the cooking. wife has not turned on stove in over 5 years. she does reheat leftovers in micro sometimes but most of time will eat them cold out of frig. I love to cook and make all our meals which most of time is supper (dinner for you up north) and cook outside on grill all year long. have a pot roast with vegables and potatoes ready to put in cooker tomorrow in morning and will be ready by night.
have to say wife works as registered nurse and works 12 hour days 7am-7pm 5 days a week and is dog tired when she gets home.
