I think the movie was delayed for a long time before they released it. That ain't a good sign. It means it rated poor with test audiences and they kept trying to change things around in order to make it better.
I think it's just that the Wolfman thing is super lame.
I always thought the Wolfman was the weakest of the monster movies from the 30's & 40's like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy etc. This one didn't look like it has much appeal either.

Yea this is what I was thinking as well. Also, it doesn't help when both Hopkins and Benicio (to a lesser extent) have proven they don't mind phoning it in from time to time - it makes it harder to shell out $10-$16 to see them if you're unsure of what you'll get.
