Yes i know what you think, sure give him a week and he be back.Really to be honest i cant say a week , 2 weeks etc or maybe months from now, but i do know the last 2 days i have enjoyed doing normal things and the vacation week i did not miss the games at all and that include the Stupid Bowl to boot and i dont like being a prisoner to the games and looking at every damn pt and time etc i have not miss.Maybe doing this so many yrs caught up to me sat nite, not sure and i really cant honestly answer that but i do know the games at time is like a drug that kept you from doing normal things, i know i miss out on a lot by being a prisoner to the games here , so with that said gl guys and i will stop for a while and not be a prisoner to the games for the short term at least..ck

You are preaching to the WRONG PEOPLE!

We actually think less of someone who posts and DOESNT gamble! Stay far away from the forums if you are no longer gambling.

That will make it much easier and you wont miss anything then

CK are you up or down gambling in the last 2-3 years? Just curious. I stop for months at a time, but its usually after I cash out with a nice profit. Helps with the burnout.

Good luck in the future.

key for me is not to watch every minute of the game. it will really tear you apart. I will watch the gamecast or check up on it every 15 min or so. Really think its better that way too, doesn't alter your perception as much and you don't go through the roller coaster of emotions.

I agree. After years of betting on sports, its really best not to watch every minute. Its not all that fun and drains your energy.

I'll check in once or twice, and then maybe catch the very end. I guess this only applies to basketball though. I enjoy watching as much football as possible, bet or no bet.

yeah absolutely true. I can live with watching football while wagering but basketball, just so many swings and runs..not worth watching every minute.

If you don't look at lines, then take a break from forums too.

I was a degenerate in the 90s. Used to wager all day with European sports and all night with our stuff.

Needless to say, I lost my shirt and lost many many thousands of dollars. I took off for a couple of years, didn't bet, didn't come to any forums and now I can bet like a regular SOB. I make $25-$50 plays and can go to bed without knowing what happened.

So when you say you "enjoy the little things in life" that's bullshit. Those are lines you use on your wife. Most people here know that ain't happening. It will take you months to get gambing out of your system and if you keep coming to forums, that isn't happening.

Right now is a great time to quit. If you can stay away now, and avoid March Madness, then you have a shot - but if you insist on frequenting forums, you may as well just post up and parlay.

You need to drop the bullshit. I was a degenerate just like you and you do NOT think that way. Everything else in life bores you and gambling gives you a boner. It's that simple.

Now stop the bullshit, please. Medical studies show the addictive nature of gambling. They have done brain scans to show the excitement levels, all the crap that you wrote above is useless.

Stop being a drama-queen. You're a degenerate like I was. Now force yourself to leave gambling for a year or so. It's what you have to do.

An additional major impediment is presented if one does not actually handicap using some combination of performance analysis and actuarial analysis of team(s) outcomes. If the sole strategy is to watch and track line moves of other bettors and only then make a decision on which events you'll invest, it's virtually impossible to participate without being tied to a computer and televisions for 6, 8, 10 hours a day.

In the past few months, a change in my business operations has me needing to shut down on internet and sports-related work earlier on many evenings than I used to for past ten years.

I've found it to be very refreshing to place one or more wagers on events beginning 10pm EDT or later, shut down my system, go to bed and then (gasp!) not know the outcome until next morning when I awake.

A mentor of mine wryly reminded me, "Bar, they will play the game whether you are awake or not and the end result will be the same whether you watch the scoreboard or instead enjoy some sleep."
