Times columnist T.J. Simers Monday that he has used HGH in the past.
Not at all surprising, as Gagne was included on the Mitchell Report in 2007 and expressed "regrets" about his past upon arriving at Dodgers camp over the weekend. "...I thought it would help me get better when I hurt my knee," he said. "I just don't want that to sound as an excuse. ... I'm so ashamed. It wasn't smart. If I knew what I know now. ... I didn't need it. I regret it so much, just now maybe getting over the guilt. It was stupid." In slightly more surprising Gagne news, the veteran said he would be open to accepting a minor league assignment this season, according to a story in the LA Times. Although Gagne has a contractual clause that allows him to become a free agent if he doesn't make the big league club, it sounds as though he'd be amiable to spending time in the minors. "I was in the Can-Am League," said Gagne of his whereabouts last season. "Triple A will be like the big leagues."
