Thus ends the Nationals' ongoing search for a "Livan Hernandez-type" veteran starter. The 35-year-old righty had a 5.44 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 102/67 K/BB ratio in 31 starts (183-plus innings) last season for the Mets and Nats. He will serve as Washington's fourth or fifth starter this year.
