Santana - Soul Sacrifice (Woodstock 1969) Incredible drum solo by 20 yr old Michael Shrieve ( Mike is still going strong today). Santana unknown at the time but a band the late music impresario Bill Graham was able to get booked in among the numerous name groups were scheduled to play twelve hours later than they did. Consequently Carlos Santana thought he had time to drop a little acid and be OK by show time. That backfired when the band had to play earlier than expected leaving Carlos Santana out in front of a crowd of 500,000 tripping. He has claimed he thought his guitar was a snake and the faces he was making were to try and get the "snake" to stay still while he played the set. None of this effected the great and now legendary drum solo by Shrieve who has had an outstanding and at times ground breaking career in music that is still going strong today.

Slightly OT -- Gregg Rolie...

That is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Gregg Rolie on keyboards in post #10 "Soul Sacrifice".
Rollie is perhaps best known for being the lead vocalist on Santana's breakthrough hit, Black Magic Woman along with other Santana hits such as “Evil Ways”, “No One To Depend On”, “Everybody’s Everything” and “Oye Como Va“.

However persistent differences with Carlos Santana as to musical direction led Rolie to leave the band at the end of 1971.

Rolie was then recruited in 1973 to join a new band with ex-Santana guitarist Neal Schon; this became Journey.

Starring in a lineup that featured Schon, Aynsley Dunbar, George Tickner, and Ross Valory, he produced music for such albums as the self-titled Journey, Look into the Future, Infinity, and Departure.

Greg Rolie in 2009..

Towards the beginning of the band's history, he was the lead vocalist and keyboardist, but when Steve Perry came into the picture he became largely a backup vocalist as well as keyboardist.

Gregg Rolie and Steve Perry sang co-lead vocals on several Journey songs.

Rolie formed The Storm in 1991 with Steve Smith, Ross Valory, Josh Ramos and Kevin Chalfant, whose voice resembles that of Steve Perry.

Their eponymous album hit #3 on the Billboard albums chart and spawned the Top Ten single "I've Got A Lot To Learn About Love."

In the late 1990s, Rolie and Neal Schon formed Abraxas Pool. Rolie also released another solo album, Roots, in 2001.

Gregg Rolie is a proponent of music education for children. In 2005, he signed on as an official supporter of Little Kids Rock, a nonprofit organization that provides free musical instruments and instruction to children in underserved public schools throughout the U.S.A. He sits on the organization's Honorary Board of Directors.

The entire Sanatana group at Woodstock included:

Carlos Santana - guitar, vocals, maracas, cowbell
Gregg Rolie - vocals, keyboards, maracas, tambourine, jingle bells
Jose "Chepito" Areas - percussion, trumpet
Mike Carabello - congas
Michael Shrieve - drums
David Brown - bass

Most spent their childhood and teenage years living in San Francisco's famous and multinational Mission District.

B.J. Wilson of Procol Harum. Keith Moon once called him the best rock drummer that he had ever seen. When it came to putting on a great show though, it was hard to beat Moon.

like John Dolmayan a lot - drummer for system of a down. Sadly I can't find any good solos, but listening to Toxicity shows off his skills a bit:
