For all the BlackJack pros out there.
Using basic strategy, are the odds better to beat a single deck game with five players where there is a shuffle between every game or a six deck game with five players where the shoe runs all the way through?Or does it not make any difference unless counting is involved?I know I could figure this out pretty easily on my own if I think about it,I just don't feel like thinking right now : ) and I know someone here knows the answer. Thanks

Play the single deck game if you can. I will give you two reasons -

1) The fewer the decks, the better the odds - but it is slight

2) Playing at a game that is reshuffled a lot takes time. During this time you continue to be rated, so because you are exposing yourself to far less hands per hour you can afford to bet a little bigger and possibly enjoy better comps with less risk.

If you have single deck that doesn't pay 6-5 on naturals, why don't you learn a simple counting system like the KO method? It is so easy to do - almost as easy as learning basic strategy. If you are a green chip player or lower don't spread any more than 1-4 units and they will never say a word. If you are a black chip player, forget it, you will get run in a hurry. Hope this helps!

single deck offers better odds than multideck, but sometimes they can negate that by offering say 6-5 on blackjack instead of 3-2.

shuffling after each hand vs letting the shoe run only matters if youre counting cards. otherwise there is no difference how often they shuffle.

i have never seen a single deck blackjack game that does not shuffle after every hand. it would be way too easy to count cards and beat the dealer.

between your two options i would take single deck, but the difference is really small and both games are -EV

True for online, most casino games should get 2+ hands out, unless > 5 players/hands.

if you're counting play the 6D, if you aren't, SD then.

Gimme a 6 deck game where they deal to the end any day. Money in the bank

a shoe dealt to the last card, would be huge +EV, about so +EV, you can't even think about it, it never happens, thats why they cut off the last third or so a shoe....

I'd love to try that game in a simulated theory test, I'd destroy that game in a casino....don't even have to be that optimal, just have the count somewhat accurate,

CRUSH,KILL,DESTROY,,,the end game.

10 years ago they would cut 1 deck off at Mirage.

Still decent games out there, you just have to find them

Playing basic strategy, you will die a slow death. Drink a lot!

Very true! You need to follow your gut sometimes and you definitely need to win your "doubles" Sometimes you have to think outside the box and ditch the stategy card!

I love the one hand wonders who stop by and throw 1 bet down and swear at the dealer, as if it's their fault when they catch a 16, or the ones who refuse to hit on 16 and lose when the dealer is showing Face or Ace. Then they tell you how the game is rigged and blah blah blah

someone consistently going against the odds will lose in the long term, if you have people playing retarded on key numbers (outside of say 16) it will hurt you in the long term.

in blackjack your only as good as the worst player at the table

Sorry, but this is a myth.

The actions of the other players have absolutely no effect on your results.

The only exception I can think of to this, is if they are purposely eating
cards when the count is positive - which would be totally ludicrous.
