I still stand by the summer games. Running, cycling, wrestling, swimming etc. These are a basic ideas that any human can do. That's why I find them so appealing. I don't know anyone who can run 100 meters in under 10 seconds, so when some of those guys do, I stop and watch in wonder. I don't get as mesmerized watching a guy launch himself off massive big ramp with skis and no sticks. It's cool and pretty ballsy, but how much athleticism does that really take?

I think both games have a lot to offer.

Some of the stuff we just saw is INSANE.

The snowboard, ski events and bobsledding for example. You can permanently cripple yourself attempting what these athletes do.

Don't get me wrong, I like the summer games also.

I know its getting late but when I saw the Title my 1st thought was why spend all the Money they did on the closing and then after further thought, why didn't we hear of these olympians donating to this or that cause before the games?

The answer is BECAUSE ITS NOT THEIR MONEY! I'll admit the only cause I support is my own but answering the question.

I'll agree with you but I'm 100% sure their training w/o steroids and most if not all probably don't work a 8 hour day/40 hour week while in training or ever will do 8/40/52 weeks ever:smoker2:

What am I saying 8/40/52. The real world is 12/60/52

An event I really liked was the cross snowboard. It's tough to ride that fast and keep balance while competing with 3 other racers. Unfortunately, I don't think this sport is nearly as exciting in any other setting.

The Ski Ramp stuff is insane! Tough to get that distance or do those acrobatics (depending on event) and stick a landing. Like I eluded to before, You would kill yourself trying it.

I'd like to see a few of these Olympians daily routine. I watched the Games late at night flipping thru channels but never heard any announcers say "after work" so-so sits on a bus for 2 hours to get home before they could put their skis on to train?

Maybe there was somebody and it was said but I didn't hear or see anything?

I liked the Curling but didn't understand nor did any of the announcers break the scoring down or show a graph?

Like I said it's getting late and I'm waiting for them to add CHESS so I can enter....... !~~~!Only if smoking is allowed:smoking:

hate taped events, much better if they showed it live. network pays all that $ to televise the Olympics and then treats it like a tv show and tries to control what the public sees. its sports not entertainment.

Final Decision

Here is another reason these peolple should fund their own lifestyle.?

A member of a Ukrainian protest group stages a demonstration Sunday at Independence Square in Kiev, Ukraine. The group was lampooning its country’s poor performance in the Vancouver Winter Olympics and called for better funding for sports in the country. Ukraine did not win any medals in Vancouver

Do away with Olympics, Winter/Summer! Countries should use the funds they're using now to improve the quality of life for everyone.

Call this "old fashion" way of life!

Winter by far. Hockey, skiing, and of course women's curling.

You know the Danish skip posed nude, just saying is all. Just seems to me that the winter Olympics take more balls. Look at the sports skeleton, luge, biathlon, short track speed skating. If your not hurtling yourself down something icy then your fighting others on the ice or your x-skiing then you know shooting. The summer Olympics there's running, so much running and that's really heroic all that running with shoes and their bibs. Give me sports with equipment and sharp poles or blades and start it on the top of a mountain. Really how can you compare a games that has half of its events pull more Gs then nascar to a games that half the events feature a hot tub at the end. Doesnt seem fair.

What about those medals? Nothing says olympic glory like a coaster from Peir 1 imports.

Summer without a doubt.
However, I preferred it when they had both in the same year.
