FYI....
I know we lightened up restrictions on OT Threads here on The Offshore Forum around 2 years ago but we are rapidly approaching the saturation point when it comes to Off Topic Threads - especially mundane off topics.
Going forward Off Topic Threads will still be allowed to stand here in The Offshore Forum but The Rx Mod Team is going to be less hesitant to move OT Threads to the Rubber Room (or other appropriate forum) depending upon how germaine the topic is to today's everyday social commentary is concerned.
Consider this post official notification that posters should not be shocked if a new thread that is to far off topic gets moved to another forum usually The Rubber Room.
Mods will leave a 1 hour redirect that you can click on so you can find your moved thread easily.
The Rx is a predominately gambling and sports website while maintaining a tolerance for allowing discussion of interesting topics that concern neither gambling or sports.
All of you are intelligent enough to have at least a fair idea what kind of topics are acceptable here on the Offshore Forum.
I am not going to post topic parameters because the topic pool is way to enormous to say what will be allowed and what will be moved. My advice is if you want to post something OT try to make your topic about something that would be of real interest to not just yourself but also to others who visit this board..
Nonsense topics are most likely going to have short shelf lives here on this forum. We don't mind real questions about everyday life such as movies, music, homes, automobiles, relationships, celebrities, (no politics) family situations, serious heath situations, How To Threads about computers or home repairs, etc. etc..I don't think I have to quote examples of non-acceptable topics.
Bottom line is we will be just a little quicker to move OT threads that in the opinion of The Moderator Team are just to far Off Topic. Please do not be offended if one of your threads gets moved, I assure you the moving of a thread will not be personal. I will make that a strict rule for all mods to abide by.
Thank you, wilheim
