Northwest Indiana

Just wondering if there are any fellow Rxers from Northwest Indiana (aka "the region")? Just 30 miles outside of Chicago and one of the better "bang for your buck" places to live in the country IMO; some real nice neighborhoods.

There are a few here. I'm just inside Michigan, but am over by Merrillville a lot. NW Indiana weather sucks a lot in the winter though.

Yeah, weather for about 4 months out of the year can be miserable. Makes you appreciate the changing of the seasons for sure.

I have a residence in the area. I spend alot of time in the Horseshoe poker room.

The Horseshoe poker room is great, as well as the rest of the casino. It's definitely the best one I've ever been to outside of Vegas.

I got a Harrah's cards there the other day. Four Winds in New Buffalo is a much nicer casino than the Horseshoe. Not even close.

The Four Winds is great too. I've been there a few times. I'm not crazy about their food/entertainment options, but it's a great casino.

Agreed. Have you also checked out the Venue at Horseshoe? They have booked some pretty good gigs there since it opened.

Nothing touches the Horseshoe in terms of poker.

Horseshoe doesn't offer Blackjack, all 21+3 game.

Im not a BJ player...Does that affect you if you arent playing the bonus?

The 21+3 game just offers a side bet based on your first two cards and the dealer's up card. Other than that, the normal BJ rules apply and you don't have to play the bonus. Of course a lot of suckers do, and they make a killing on it.

four winds is 100X nicer and much better crowd you cant moveor find a seat on a busy night in the horseshoe plus you feel like you might get robbed/ beaten with the late night crowd walking around.

buddy has a place in new buff we went to a bunch in the summer so i always went to the four winds there and when at home went to elgin.

ive played poker a few times last year at the shoe for a 2-5 game its pretty reckless and junky

sounds good warning prob wont be atleast until may.

as for that cash cow thing i have a habit of getting killed by reckless players chasing or just dicking around being younger i must attract that type of play against those season vets that go to the shoe
