Betting spring training is a crapshoot but I believe there is money to be made if you do your research.

I like the Braves -140 today cause the usuals will play 3-4 innings and the pitchers will pitch 2 innings a piece. I watched the pirates yesterday and they used a lot of their talented pithcers and they all pithced 1 inning each. Also the pirates are really lacking offense.

Question for ya bilbo. what is the best site as far as getting an overall snapshot of what these teams are doing in spring training and what the expected lineups etc... are going to be day by day, for a better idea who to take. Thanks in advance.

Im a huge braves fan so I read the AJC every morning around 1130 or so and they do a live blog and post the line ups so thats where i get my braves/their opponents lineups for the games..Id imagine that most teams hometown papers do this sort of thing..If u want to see the standings http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/exhibition.jsp...and if u see a lineup with unfamiliar names go to baseball-reference.com...probably the best baseball stats site ever made

cool. seems like there is money to be made in spring training, they just make it a little more difficult to give you a good idea of who your capping on a daily basis. I'm sure if I followed golf and tennis like I do baseball could make a killing lol. Guess the only real way to get an idea of teams on a daily basis is each one's local website and not a complete site with all lineups/updates etc...Good luck. I'll pass along any info. to ya if/when i have time to delve deeper into games.

With early preseason bases, sometimes it's more important knowing for the visitors who did not make the trip than who is in the starting lineup. For example today the A's play at Cubs and these five A's projected starters did not make the trip. Listed showing their position when starting.

CF - Coco Crisp
DH - Jack Cust
2B - Mark Ellis
3B -Kevin Kouzmanoff
C - Kurt Suzuki
Eric Chavez - Unknown if he will be able to start this season at either 3B or 1B with his health being the issue.

All of the above info from A's local newspapers. I did play the Cubs SMALL at -130.

It's not much different than how we look at Pre Season football. Knowing the QB rotation is great info to have when capping Pre Season football, as is knowing in advance how long the starters should play. Most of this info is also found in the local newspapers.

Mid Fifth -- Cubs 4 A's 1.

Not exactly in love with this game, Danks is a real good pitcher and pinero is a so-so pitcher..but these guys will only pitch 2 innings while most position players will play 4-5 innings..that being said im probably gonna play the angels small
