LeBron James and Kobe Bryant played together on the U.S. men's basketball team that captured the gold in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the two NBA superstars could reunite to play together in Los Angeles next season.

The scenario is unlikely, but it remains a possibility for several reasons.
Los Angeles provides the opportunity to play in the second-largest market in the United States, an appealing place for a star like James to sign as a free agent this offseason. More important, playing with Bryant in Los Angeles gives the six-time All-Star the chance to win multiple NBA titles.
The Lakers have a history of acquiring star players, including Kareem Abdul-Jabar, James Worthy and Magic Johnson, via trade (the latter two as draft picks).

The Cavaliers could offer James more money than the Lakers, but if James wants a max contract, the Lakers do possess some assets that could help them acquire the forward. Los Angeles could offer Cleveland a package including Andrew Bynum, either Lamar Odom or Ron Artest and draft picks in a sign-and-trade deal.

The move could appeal to the Cavaliers since they would be acquiring both talented players and draft picks, plus although they would lose James, at least they would move him out of the Eastern Conference.
Such a scenario seems far-fetched, but it could work for both teams.
It remains to be seen if James and Bryant could co-exist, but if the two athletes can share the spotlight as puppets, perhaps they could share the stage in the bright lights of Los Angeles as well.

Last time i checked the NBA still had a salary cap. To move Bynum, Odom, and Artest would be ridiculous even if it was for Lebron. The lakers are doing just fine with Kobe and company

I wish if anything it would be Wade and James in whatever team. The two seem to really get along well. No doubt they would be awesome.

Doesn't matter who you get rid of you don't need much more of a core if you team 2 guys like Kobe & LeBron.

That's why I wish someon in Orlando would wake up and see that....

1. LeBron is likely to bail out of New York
2. The Cavs know this & won't want to lose him & get nothing in return
3. Cleveland will listen & entertain offers for sign & trade deals if they hear or believe James is going to leave

And I hope if it comes to someone in the Magic Organization will try to be creative in bringing in LeBron to team with Dwight Howard, and offer Rashard Lewis, Vince Carter, and whoever else as the Magic have a lot to offer from their roster even from their bench.

If LeBron makes it clear that he is gonna leave then Cleveland will jump on any such offer.

As for Kobe & LeBron though........To be honest I don't think either one of them would put their pride aside to play together and give up the whole spotlight, especially LeBron James.....

No matter what, Lebron will be on a big market team. NBA money is not anything compared to his endorsement deals.

Max deals are going to shrink significantly when the new CBA is done.

It's a game of chicken.

Lebron will lose $30 million if he goes anywhere but Cleveland.

If the Cavs think he will go, they will sign and trade.

If they call his bluff, Lebron loses $30 million.

If Lebron wasn't from Akron, I would say he is gone. That might be the only reason he stays in Cleveland.

By the way, Lebron is a drama queen so this could all be him looking for attention.

How much more per year can cleveland offer him?

You cant really look at the total deal because they can offer 6 year, for lebron you figure he is still a max player 5 years from now.

As far as the cavs, if they lose lebron, they shouldnt care where he goes, they wont be good.

Wade, Bosh, and Lebron need to smarten up. They've all got bank already, if they would just stop being greedy. They could all go to the same team, and turn that team into a dynasty.

they will all be New York Knicks come the 2011 season. :103631605 What a dream that would be. The sick thing is...its not far fetched the Knicks have the cap space to do it. If they want all 3 of course they would have to take pay cuts but 2 out of 3 is certainly in their realm.

If these guys would put money aside and do it for the love of the game you could have Wade and Lebron take a pay cut and be on the same team. Can you imagine.

they don't even have to take paycuts if they sign with the Knicks.

They're all drama-queens. Like 16 year old girls sitting around and saying, "You know what? That guy in my biology class asked formy phone number".
