Nice Pick-up...

Boldin agrees to extension

The Arizona Cardinals have traded receiver Anquan Boldin to the Baltimore Ravens for third and fourth round draft picks, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Boldin, who was entering the final year of his contract, agreed to a three-year, $25 million extension with the Ravens, according to league sources, which leaves him with four years, $28 million left on his contract. The extension includes $10 million in guaranteed money.

Boldin, 29, caught 84 passes for 1,024 yards and two touchdowns last season. Although Boldin has had difficulty staying healthy throughout his pro career, he has amassed at least 1,000 yards receiving in five of his seven seasons.

The Cardinals have had a busy off season with the retirement of Kurt Warner and the release of Antrel Rolle. Inside linebacker Karlos Dansby may also leave the team after becoming an unrestricted free agent.

The Ravens bolstered their receiving corps with the signing of Donte' Stallworth to a one-year contract in February.

The Ravens appear to be serious about catching the Chargers and Colts at the top of the AFC. Looks like they have already passed Pittsburgh, New England, Tennessee and Denver as far as expectations go. The Jets are the mystery team that could end up anywhere from 8th to 1st when the 2010 AFC playoffs come around.

I am not sure if the Jets' acquisition of Antonio Cromartie is that big a deal. He had a breakthrough season in 2007 but since then has been pretty ordinary IMHO. A third round pick (with a chance to go to 2nd rounder if he plays well) is not saying a lot for him.

He has seven children by six different women in five different states. I know that shoudn't effect his play but it says something about his lifestyle.

He has to clear up all of his paternity issues. He is reportedly at least $25,000in arrears in child support and has been slapped with five paternity suits in the past two seasons.

Cromartie when asked about his dropoff in play the past two seasons: "In 2007 (when he had an NFL-high 10 INTs), I played a lot more man-to-man and bump-and-run. In 2008, I was injured. Last year, early on in the season I had a pretty good year. But I played a lot of off-coverage (which he didn't like). I just do what the coaches ask me to do.''

On his infamous missed tackle on Jets RB Shonn Greene's 53-yard TD in the playoffs (see photo above): "It's something I should've made the play on. I was there to make a tackle for a three- or four-yard gain and it didn't happen. It (tackling) is something I have to work on.''

Good luck Rex Ryan..

The Jets should have gone after Nnamdi Asomugha who wanted to play for the Jets. If they had him, they would be nearly impossible to throw on & would have the best defense in the league in my honest opinion.

With Cromartie in the defensive backfield with Rivas, just might spark Cromarties ego and make him play like he did a couple of seasons ago. It wouldn't surprise me at all. If it does, the Jets just might be a terror on defense against the pass.

Stallworth and Boldin should add serious threat to an already decent receiving core in Balt , not to good for us colts fans

Ravens are looking strong. if their defense holds up all season they are going to be a tough team to beat
