I'll call it the BTJ syndrome. Why does the money have to come home so quick ?

Deposit say $1,000, make $500 bets, get to $2,000, send me a check Fed-ex for $1,000.

Get to 8k, OK withdraw.

What is BTJ syndrome? I don't withdraw after a big win because I figure I have probably lost as much trying to win. If I get to 8k or more than yes I would withdraw.

I agree with you.

I agree, i like to build my money up b4 i withdrawal.

I usually play for a whole week then request a payout.

However I can see the other side of it because there have been times where i wished i had just taken the money right away only to lose it betting on more games.

i guess the withdraw factor might help eliminate someone going on tilt if say they went from 1k to 2k in a day and then back to 1k, alot of people will go on tilt trying to get that thousand they were just up and blow it all in the end. Personally if i get up a decent amount in a gambling run I like to buy something tangible with the profits, plasma tv, nice trip etc

Like Kidman said, for people who are likely to go on tilt, it's a must.

Depends on the book: Normally I make one withdrawal a month, but I like to have my money available at my e-wallet, so I can spread it around, where it's needed.

I worry about the offshore books since the laws changed I don't like to keep too much in one place. Ever since Cascade went under and now WSEX is paying slowly I worry about all books. Not enough to stop betting but enough that I don't let my balances get too high. If 8k represented a significant amount of my bankroll I wouldn't keep that much there. My rule of thumb is to try to keep no more than 20% in one place.

Not so much the place, there are a half dozen solid places, and 500 awful places.

Get the right place, but yes 20% is reasonable.

Doug, what is the best book out there in your opinion? Not counting Matchbook as that is an exchange.

Well, Cascade and WSEX were very highly regarded before their demise in the case of the former and the recent cashout problems in the case of the latter.

Depends on what you bet, and your tolerance for risk, and how important low vig is to you.

so what if MB is an exchange ?

I'd go this way, no Euro books

Matchbook
5dimes
jam/greek
heritage
youwager/pop

I'm probably forgetting one or two, OK add....

CRIS/Bookmaker

but they are dickheads that don't transfer out, without raping you, safe though

Phoenix group seems a bit more iffy to me, but OK with a small balance.

Matchbook is the book for me. I want my monies there, like 80% +

I want to increase my monies offshore, so I can bet more.

I've had as much as like $80,000 offshore, then I withdraw winnings ( mostly Canbet, at my peak).

I'd like about 20k offshore these days, play nickels to dimes off of that, not there yet, trying to win back to a 20 dime balance, above that, bring the money home.

For most people it would be so they could use their money to buy stuff

got plenty of stuff, just trying to pay bills, really !

$200 /day winning gambling would do, but that's tough with no insurance, pension, benies.....let alone actually winning $200/day, $70k/year.

I can't win 70k/year.

This what BEANTOWNJIM does, he's an e-friend of mine, BTW.

BTJ bets like 500-1,000 game, plays at like Phoenix, 5D, and some locals.

Dude doesn't understand variance....make your $500 bets, don't cash when up $1,000 , make your book send you a check/MO.

Settle with your local, weekly, I understand, that's normal !

Play to 10 units offshore , Jim....

$5k ( or less) sent, get ahead like $5k before requesting a payback, Cheese&Rice
