Somehow fitting it happened at that EPT stop in Berlin and not anywhere else since the whole thing in Berlin was organised horrible and the security for the whole cash was just one of many shortcomings...

That's wrong, 1mio. EUR was the price for 1st place in this event. Latest numbers cirling around are that they got away with ~250k EUR.

Was that the security guy, throwing the suit case at the robber? Do they not carry guns if so?

Don't know if the security had guns or why they didnt have guns. It sure as hell seems damn stupid to transfer the money to the main safe without guarded security...
Maybe he had a gun, but didn't use it because he didn't want to start a gunfight in the lobby....

But that whole robbery seems strange: From the video footage it looks like the worst planned robbery ever. They had no gloves, so they left DNA trace, one security guy rips them off one of their bags (appr. ~500k EUR) and the robbers panic completely...
Right now police is talking about the possibility of an inside job or at least one of the players being involved because they attacked during a 5min timeframe, where the money should have been transferred from the cashier towards the main safe/vault.
