Trying to get myself motivated for the upcoming season. Usually a bit more fired up by now, which scares me a bit. Of all the sports baseball is the one you have to be most motivated for since it is the epitome of a grind. Looking over these regular season win totals I see a lot of money to be made. It's the area I have always done the best with, and so no reason why it should differ this season, especially with some of these totals that have been posted. I have my eye on a few, and will give it some time before playing some to see if any moves/injuries occur, but wanted lock these 2 in immediately.

Chicago Cubs Over 82.5 -105
San Francisco Giants Over 82.5 -110

I will update this thread throughout the Spring, all the way up until first pitch. Please everybody feel free to add any useful information/comments. let's try and get a good discussion going for the season.

Also, for any serious bettors I highly recommend purchasing the Baseball Prospectus.

Bobby Cox's last year here in Atlanta, all I hear everyday is Jason Heyward this and Jason Heyward that, they act like this guy is the next Albert Pujols and he is only a rookie, on another note though The Braves have a great starting 5 in pitching, one of the best

HD, I'm glad the baseball season is finally upon us. This is definitely my best sport and it's not even close. How about for you?

Also, what outs do you use for baseball? Do you just stick with MB, BetJam and 5Dimes, or do you have a few more that you like?

HD...just a suggestion, check out pitching staff for CWS, don't know if there is a better 5! IF everyone stays healthy (big IF), they could be a sleeper. They do need some thumping in the lineup tho, but what a staff!!

Peavy (if he can stay healthy)
Freddy (he disappeared for twenty 20 years like Rip Van Winkle)
I'm a big John Danks fan
Gavin Floyd and Buehrle, I've seen Buehrle get lit up a few years, I know he has the no-hitters, but at times he doesn't look nowhere elite

I'm new to baseball betting. I've been a huge fan for a long time but mainly just my club (Colorado Rockies). I know this question gets asked a lot and can be annoying but who would be a good couple cappers on here to tail for a little while before I really start to get my bearings? Thanks guys

Your thoughts on the Reds--I say over 80.5..
I also like TB under 89.5

it's so tough to take the reds since every year it seems they are predicted for a break out season only for something to fail. before it was they had the bats, but no arms, last season they couldn't hit, or play defense. i do think the central will be a bit weaker this season, which could be an advantage, but with Harang all a sudden a question mark, and volquez out with tommy john (or not nearly ready) there are too many unproven arms in their rotation. i just can't see them being over .500, but too be completely honest i still have to take a deeper look. that is just from what i recall having read so far

i do like tampa to have a good year though. 89 does seem a bit high, and you do have the factor that they may sell the farm if they aren't in contention in order to save money. both crawford and pena are in the last years of their deal, and it is believed that if they aren't in contention they will look to trade these 2, and possibly others, to get something in return

mlb is on the ml. ex ny is the favorite -145. the dog is usually 10 cents less so would be +135. some books use 20 cent lines, which would be +125. you don't want to use those books. matchbook is a must for mlb, with 1 cent lines, or 5dimes with overnight nickel reduced
