$1000.00........Don't remember anything like that but all I have to do is sign the form and send in a copy of my license or passport.

sounds fishy to me as well...might not be from western union actually, might be a way to get your info.....seems odd u could have 1000 sent to you and you NOT KNOW ABOUT IT, or REMEMBER IT.....

and they wait 8 years to contact you?

Yes indeed It gives a number to call.....Actually it said I sent 1,000 and it was never claimed by the receiver. Maybe a book credited my account but for some reason never picked it up.

now that makes a little more sense.....you arent just going to forget that someone sent you 1000....but if they never picked it up, that is possible.....i just wonder how many "questions" they'll have for you before they release the funds though, is only bad part...but certainly worth a shot to get that kind of money back after all this time...

Harrington be careful - very careful.

Whatever you do - do not click on any links and be real careful answering questions. This easily could be an Identity thief trap. They make their emails look real authentic now. I get them from PayPal, E-Bay, different banks, etc all places I never did business with.

if that is on the up and up, then WU has some horrible accounting people or something, to let 8 years go by and then go "oh by the way you sent 1000 some years back and that person still ain't claimed it.

How much of a time lapse for you ?

I've never used WU, always went MG instead, haven't done that in at least 6 months, though.

My local MG place is closing down ( Shaws supermarket), that only leaves the Special Olympians manning the Walmart service desk, 15 miles away.

This happened to me also a few years ago. It was maybe for 300+ and turned out to be very legit.I guess the money was never picked up from some book I used years ago. I would still be careful before submitting any info of course.
