Weezy Jefferson lived to be 87 (died in 2004)

Marla Gibbs is still alive

Sherman Hemsley is still alive

Tom Willis lived to be 78 (died in 2006)

Harry Bentley just recently died at age 70 (died in 2008)

Helen Willis (Lenny Kravitz's mom) is probably the only early death from the show and she died at age 66.

If I was going to say one show from back in the day that has a lot of dead stars I would say What's Happening. Rerun, Momma, and Shirley all died pretty young. I think Momma ans Shirley both died in the same year. Mabel King who played momma had a tough battle with diabetes. I think at on point both of her feet got amputated. I guess your weight and pretty much size in general factor in your life span. Most tall people don't live that long either.

Bonanza

Lorne Green - Ben Cartwright died in 1987 at age of 72
Pernel Robers - Adam Cartwright died in Jan of 2010 at age of 82
Both of the above led long lives with successful careers (especially Roberts)
Dan Blocker - Hoss Cartwright died in 1972 at age of 44
Michael Landon - Little Joe Cartwright died in 1991 at the age of 55

Michael Landon and Dan Blocker died young especially Hoss who died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism.

Michal Landon died tragically of pancreatic cancer (a difficult way to go).

2 of 4 died to young from one of the most popular shows to ever air on US TV. Lasting 14 seasons, Bonanza is among the longest running Western television series (second behind Gunsmoke) and continues to air in syndication, starring the 4 mentioned above Pernell Roberts, Lorne Greene, Dan Blocker, and Michael Landon.

I still watch it on AMC at least once a week.

First show that came to mind was SNL but there are WAY too many people from that show, but way too many passed early sadly..

One that came to mind

Dana Michelle Plato (November 1, 1963 – May 8, 1999) was an American actress notable for playing the role of Kimberly Drummond in the U.S. television sitcom Diff'rent Strokes. Plato's career declined after her departure from the show, with appearances in low-budget films, including softcore pornography. She had longstanding personal problems and died from an overdose of prescription medication on May 8, 1999.[1]

The actor was Paul Benedict. I met him briefly around 1980 or thereabouts. Me and someone I can't recall had to move some furniture from one apartment to another (on the corner of Commonwealth and Fairfield in Boston's Back Bay). Knocked on the door and Paul Benedict was on the other side and let us into his apartment.

It's kind of funny that if you went by their real ages, Lorne Green was just 13 years older than Pernell Roberts and Dan Blocker. I guess the white hair made the difference.

apparently her son could not take it anymore...
http://www.popeater.com/2010/05/12/tyler-lambert-dana-plato-suicide/

Tyler Lambert, son of 'Diff'rent Strokes' star Dana Plato, committed suicide on May 6, almost exactly 11 years after his mother ended her life. Lambert was 25.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told PopEater that Lambert (pictured above in 1999) died from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. Toxicology tests are pending. Though the office had no more information at this time, the National Enquirer alleges Lambert suffered depression surrounding the anniversary of his mother's death and descended into a drug binge prior to his suicide.
"It's a shame that such a talented human being would do this with his life," his grandmother Joni Richardson tells PEOPLE. "He had all the opportunities in the world and we just can't understand it."

In reports from a not-yet-online National Enquirer piece, Lambert's grandmother said, "Tyler wanted to be with his mother. His father Lanny (Lambert, Plato's ex-husband) is devastated."

Dana Plato committed suicide with prescription pills on May 8, 1999. She was 36 years old. In 2006, a 21-year-old Lambert filed a $20,000 wrongful death lawsuit against Plato's former fiance, claiming he contributed to Plato's death by "not giving immediate medical assistance or contacting medical personnel," according to court documents.
