Early 2 pm NHL game.

Ottawa and Dallas

Betjam has it at

Ottawa -105
Dallas -115

Matchbook has...

Ottawa +113
Dallas -114

Assuming you accept it becomes about...

Ott +111
Dal -116

Dallas is a cent better at BJ, but Ottawa is 16 cents better at MB. I want the Senators, how can you not have the account where the line is 16 cents better ?

Usually MB would be best on BOTH sides of this game, but not this time.

Doug are you Matchbook rep? Just asking.

I used them yesterday for the first time. Pretty good lines compared to what I was getting at the other book.

not a rep, just an example.

You will see tremendous differences at MB, usually the best price on both sides, but Jam was actually better on Dallas. When that happens it is only by a cent or two.

It is very important on pucklines and runlines, and high money lines.... something that is like -600/+400 or whatever trades in a narrower range, like -500/+480 for example.

You'll often get 30 cents better on a puckline bet.

With baseball shops like Betjam and 5D can compete, forget it with hockey, not even pinnacle is competitive.

I like the new avatar, whoever it is. I didn't like the pack of cigs, as a guy that has quit for 80 days or so.

Regular books are silly compared to Matchbook.

Ohio is +8.5 -110 at Betjam and most books

+8.5 +102 at Matchbook, +100 counting commission, 10 cents better, I'm trying for +103

Everything is 10 cents better, pretty much... beats me how you guys can not have this as your top out !

You'se people would surely buy gas at a station that is 5 cents less , to save $1.

Why not lay 500 to win 500, instead of 550 for 500 ?

<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr class="evenrow"><td>Ohio at Tennessee</td><td>Point Spread 8.5</td><td>Ohio 8.5</td><td align="right">+103</td><td align="right">50.00</td><td style="color: green;" align="right">51.50</td></tr></tbody></table>
just a mundane action bet.

I get +103 ( no commission). It would be -110 at most places, 13 cents better +103 for me, and this is everyday, almost every bet !

I can profit picking 50%, instead of needing 52.38%

Laying -110 is dumb.

13 cents or so line value is huge. That is your edge, really !

As long as you don't play much in exotics for hockey, MB is the best way to go. The only draw back is the lack of volume. For small players it's the number one shop.

Greatest shop in the world for U.S. players.

Volume is fine if your not wagering over 3,000 a game...........and sometimes that is not a problem.

Do not let the 543 figure make you believe that is all that you can get down,,,,,,,,,,,,if one wagers all of that offer, it is quickly replaced with another one a few cent higher, at a line that still is better then anywhere else!

ANY POSTER ON ANY MAJOR GAMING BOARD IS MISSING THE BOAT IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A MB ACCOUNT!!

Great post Doug

True on most sports but not hockey. Liquidity is a issue. However with more people speading the word about MB it may not be a problem forever.

My only other pet peeve is to see one of my offers being accepted for a grand total of 12 cents.

I often want to lay a half puck in regulation time, cant do it, so I compensate with a ML bet and a lesser bet -1.5 pucks....not exactly the same thing....but essentially no-vig lines , When I offer.

There is still like $500 available now on sides that go off 2.5+ hours from now, at typically much better lines than Bookmaker, Betjam, or any normal book.

Matching 5-10 K hours before the game would be tough, $500 should be doable, that covers 90% + of people. You can always offer also. If you want 10k, put up a reasonable offer, good chance it matches for 5k.

say it is -105 both ways at a low juice shop. +100 is a fair offer, esp. if full vig is -110 both ways, it should fill, if that is the best offer on MB, but it needs to be watched, if you can't watch it, offer to take -105 ( Other guy gets +105), that should fill a 5k order, -105 to you beats -110, but I prefer getting like +103.

There are ways to beat that wicked 11/10 juice.

QL; You get it, win or lose long-term playing stuff at like -102 to +102 ( typical Matchbook) is huge compared to laying -110.

Face it, Most of us won't pick 52.38 % winners to beat normal -110 vig., over thousands of picks. Get +103 on the same stuff, you win, picking 50% !

Watch your offers, though ! You will get nailed on something like a RAS total, and be wrong-sided.

Be careful, out there, in theory it works, but you have to be vigilant if offering. Like glued to the screen vigilant, cancel offers if you go eat dinner, etc.

I've been trying to get BEANTOWNJIM to try MB for many years. It is not that complicated, harder to deposit with, than most books, I'll grant that much.
