Howell - R - TB - Mar. 20</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>J.P. Howell, slowed this spring by a sore left shoulder, has been told to refrain from throwing for at least two weeks.
Howell is obviously not going to be ready for Opening Day and might not return to action until the middle of May. He had a 2.84 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 69 relief appearances last season and will be sorely missed.
