The writing has been on the wall for weeks and Girardi finally made it official on Thursday morning in Yankees camp. Hughes has posted a 4.15 ERA and 10/2 K/BB ratio in 13 innings this spring. Joba Chamberlain is headed to the bullpen and is likely to serve in an eighth-inning setup role for Mariano Rivera.
