Even though I should have probably expected this, it amazes me sometimes how some people conduct themselves. I don't understand, for the life of me, why some of you get so offended at this. I could have beaten up an old lady on the 6 o' clock news and received less grief. If I may make a suggestion, stop the "monkey see, monkey do" mentality and instead try to make your own decisions as to what is right or wrong in life. I feel some of you just react this way because you've learned that's how everyone else reacts.
Aren't we capable of making our own decisions? If you drive by a McDonald's and you see on their big sign out front "99 cent Big Macs", do you go in the restaurant and yell insults and degrade them? Of course not. You either buy the Big Mac or you keep driving. How is this any different? Accept or decline and move on. What's with the insults? I thought freedom of choice was the simplest of concepts and one that should go without saying.
I understand and respect the rules of the forum, and I can see why my thread was moved, but some of you overreacted so hastily and didn't wait to see what my intentions were for the upcoming season. One member ("Chasin Action") understood because he read what I posted. Many others didn't care to. Quick to judge, slow to understand. I was actually planning on providing insight here all season as to how I approach building systems. It was going to be a fun change for me. More like a workshop. There would still be some picks here and there, but mainly information which would have been very productive in some capacity, at least for those that are students of capping like myself. Way more productive than many of the threads on these forums tend to be. I think we get too hung up on picks here that we forget we can add other content of meaning as well. That's why I'm upset with some of the overreactions. It's okay for people to take from me but if I decide to protect my work I'm out of line?
To the new guy that joined the forum THIS MONTH that was questioning my results from last year and also questioning how I can expect 60-100 units this year, you need to try reading what I wrote. It's not that hard. I always explain, usually in very time-consuming detail (like this post), what I'm talking about. If you don't take the time to read it, that's not my fault.
Vegas Vic, I can't possibly disagree with your accusations any more than I do. Since when should I have to defend myself for making a profit in hockey or any sport? I can stop my free and publicly posted hockey system whenever I feel like it. I've never been a guy that just does this for the "action" as you say. I don't care what the average guy does. I am not the average guy. That's probably why I'm successful. You do know being an action junkie is counter-productive right? Would you follow someone like that? Bottom line, I make profit. And I do that by working hard and trying to make the best decisions I can. I told you I stopped NBA at 34 units and SAVED everyone around 5 units by stopping early! It worked!!! UNITS NOT LOST ARE UNITS GAINED! What don't you understand? I should be getting complimented for that yet instead I'm being accused by you. I'm more shocked at your comments than anyone's because I thought you were a classy guy in the hockey forum and you had my respect. I almost want to believe someone else logged into your account and that wasn't really you. For you to get so upset about this that you lose your mind and accuse me of stopping early to ensure profit is absolutely shocking, not to mention it shows me a complete lack of respect.
Well, that's it. I had to get this off my chest. I don't feel I owe anyone an explanation but I've invested way too many hours of my life on this forum to not explain my side. I've paid my dues for 8 years, 5 of them here, and in all that time I've done nothing but provide winning picks in every single season and always made myself available to answer questions or provide insight while asking for nothing in return. 8 years of that! I thought I at least earned the benefit of the doubt and people would at least respect my decision whether they liked it or not. Combine MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL together and no one has matched my results here. I've been told for years that my hard work was appreciated but now I see the appreciation is selfishly conditional.
I understand there will be more bashing from certain individuals which will probably begin immediately. From what I've seen so far, it's a certainty.
