"I’m delighted to tell you you’re on the team, Jason, simply because you make us a better team," Cox told Heyward. It was all but official already, as the impressive youngster has batted .366 (15-for-41) with one home run and five RBI this spring. The former 2007 first-round pick batted .323/.408/.555 with 17 homers and 63 RBI between three stops in the minor leagues last season.
