Vikings shouldnt wait till favre makes a decision and deal the #30 overall pick to Philadelphia.

What if Favre decides he just cant endure another season physically and mentally and the Vikes miss out on McNabb?

Make the trade Vikings. Thoughts?

I doubt Philly would take it. I wouldn't. Kolb for #30 makes more sense.

I would attempt it if I were the Vikes.

Even if he doesn't return, though, the Vikes aren't likely to find out until summer time, when McNabb is already long gone from the Eagles. McNabb would also be "open" to a trade to San Francisco, according to one source.

At this stage of their careers, I would easily say bye bye Favre and sign McNabb for the pick. He has 3-5 more good years left, Favre maybe one more year?

Favre is a great player however every year his team is put in a situation where the player(Favre) has more control than the coach. This can't be good for any team.

Favre will be back. First and foremost he is an egomaniac and his ego would not be able to handle someone coming in behind him and possibly "finishing the job" he "started".

And even more of a reason why the Vikes should put themselves in the mix fo for McNabb......

We could've told you Favre will be "undecided" until July at the earliest, but that would've been too easy. Werder does point out that McNabb would be "the ideal replacement" for Favre because he's so familiar with Brad Childress' offense and the Vikings' coaching staff. The Vikes are not pressuring Favre to make an announcement, despite McNabb's immediate availability.

they should try to bring on warner as a FA as well...imagine a 1st, 2nd and 3rd string of Favre, Warner and McNabb

the PS QB would have to be ready at all times....

As Much As I Like Favre

I'd prefer a "sure" thing #5, thru all of training camp and starting the season. Rather than sit on pins & needles, for the next 4 mos, waiting for Favre. Would really like McNabb for the nest 3 or 4 yrs in purple!!:toast:
