Anybody else catch Shawn's farewell speech?
Those were real tears, I know the difference.
Thanked Hitman, HHH, Vince.
'Taker came out for a second, tipped his hat, real classy.
And profusely thanked all the fans.

I really believe he's done.

HBK's final words

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Shawn Michaels has left the building"
Then hugs Hunter.

Man, I loved his grappling style.

As mentioned in the Wrestlemania thread, my earliest vivid memory of WWF was Shawn Michaels as a kid. He's in my favorite match ever (Wrestlemania 10 ladder match vs. Razor Ramon) and loved the Iron Match against Bret.

He carried wrestling for me and he's a legend.

HBK is by far the best wrestler ever. He never had a bad match & could carry anyone in the ring.

I truly believe he is done as he never struck me as the kind of guy to come back & wrestle after retiring. He was on hiatus before but for legit reasons. Although he is not as messed up now as he was then, I don't see him coming back.

He has had his title runs, doesn't want to travel, & has no money matches left outside of Sting which won't happen. The one thing I am surprised about is this.

It is pretty well known he & Hunter wanted to face each other at Wrestlemania. I am very shocked Hunter was not his last match. If he ever wrestles again, it will probably be against Hunter a Wrestlemania.

Good point, Sunday was his final money match.
You knew the end was near when Degeneration X weren't a tag team for the last 2 months or so.

it was nice to see michaels finally admit that he was a real pain in the ass to work with...in the end, he did it all...tag teams...singles...championships...coke...crack...every drug imaginable...he was a great role model for many years...

I haven't watched wrestling in years. HBK was great but he was a massive douche in real life.

Bret Hart, now that is a guy who yo can look up to.

I still can't believe the guy had the career that he had. I remember watching him when he was really young back in the All Star Wrestling AWA days probably about 25 years ago when I still was into wrestling big time. I remember being really surprised when I was flipping channels a few years later and saw that he was WWF champ.

I still stand by my assumption the Wrestlemania 10 ladder match with Razor Ramon was the most epic match ever. Loved HBK

ahaha that was for the intercontinental champ i think...yea that was great...always pissed me off in ladder matches how one guy would get to the top of the ladder and then of course the other would get up n know the ladder down or pull them off..that razor ramon promo before the match was great....he was a character himself...still dont know why him n diesel left wwf...

Didnt he used to wrestle in Texas (with Von Erichs) as a member of the Fantastics?

When the match was first announced i figured it would be just another short term time off thingy, but after seeing trips come out at the end and the hug, etc, I'm buying that was legitimate retirement.

Not to say he won't make an appearance or two, but I think he's done with the wrasslin. He made a point of saying Daddy's coming home to his kids - and after sitting 1 row away from him on an airplane ride from San Antonio to Detroit a few years ago, all he did on that flight was watch home videos of his kids playing together, so I buy it.

I'm sold on his retirement.
I read the laundry list of his ailments and injuries, he's not risking his life anymore, he got sober, is a good man now, and loves his family, I totally respect how Shawn changed his life around.

Back in the day, never cared for the guy. I agree with the above poster probably an ass in real life.

Razor Ramon, most underrated character ever. Guy was great!

Razor Ramon was Big Scott Hall correct? Another former AWA tag team champ with Mr. Perfect. I didn't recognize him without his pornstache.

Thing that always struck me about HBK was he was certainly in shape, but never looked that big/ripped standing next to other wrestlers. But when he would go onto a talk show and stand next to the host, he suddenly looked like a monster. Couldn't believe it was the same guy.

That's him! Mr Perfect, another guy that was great outside the ring. When I watched wrestling, wrestling actually took a back seat for me. I watched it for the interviews and the side-show antics.

The Rock I thought was funny as hell. When he left, wrestling really went downhill. If that's even possible? :think2:
