4/1/10
April Fools Day, 3 days until opening day.
For starters, I'll take Texas over 84.5 wins +100 for 3*
Speaking of starters, Rich Harden is the difference, backing up 17 game winner Scott Feldman (who will improve on that 2009 season) makes a very nice 1-2 combo.
If healthy, and I think he is, Fransisico is one on the elite closers in the game.
Love the lineup with Davis, Young, Kinsler, and Andrus (who will have a breakout year) I say 10 HR's 45 SB's, .285 in the infield.
Love the outfield with Cruz, Halmilton, and Borbon.
Borbon could steal 70, in 1/4 season last year, he stole 19 and hit .312, the casual fan may not know of Borbon, but this guy is a flyer, keep an eye on him all season, not only that, he can pop the ball over the fence on occasions.
I love Salty as a catcher, dude is old school hardball reciever, calls a good game, and has 20 HR pop if he gets the Atbats.
I'll also take Texas at a generous +200 to win the AL West.
I don't believe in the Mariners this year, and LA is getting older with Hunter and as much as I love him Abreu.
Aybar doesn't get on enough for a leadoff hitter, and Brandon Wood and his .195 average at third will bog down that lineup.
Brandon Wood is about exciting as a trip to the dentist.
And who exactly is the Angel ace?
Mystery man?
Santana?
Weaver?
Kazmir?
Texas is who I am backing in the west this year.
Much more baseball as the year goes on folks, that's it for now.
