Question on facebook..and using your own facebook account with a cell phone..

I know with an IPHONE for example, or ITOUCH you can basically do FACEBOOK through a WIFI internet connection....

I see a person updating their facebook account and on facebook it says
update via IPHONE.....however, to the best of my knowledge this person has no IPHONE or ITOUCH...they do have a normal verizion type cell phone with texting (but no verizion internet)...can you text facebook status updates and comment on other facebook posts and get facebook updates sent to you via text so you can actually do facebook from a normal phone?

sometimes the update says sent via facebook text

and sometimes the update says sent via facebook for IPHONE...

or is this person somehow actually using an IPHONE, ITOUCH to do this?

any opinions..thanks!

I believe that feature can be shut off also. I know it can be in emails, it's in the signature option.

Fb down today, interesting https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/04/tech/facebook-instagram-whatsapp-outage/index.html

Outage tracking site Down Detector logged tens of thousands of reports for each of the services. Facebook's own site would not load at all for about an hour on Monday; Instagram and WhatsApp were accessible, but could not load new content or send messages.

The reason for the outage was not immediately clear. However, multiple security experts quickly pointed to a Domain Name System (DNS) problem as a possible culprit. Around 1 pm ET, Cisco's internet analysis division ThousandEyes said on Twitter that its tests indicate the outage is due to an ongoing DNS failure. The DNS translates website names into IP addresses that can be read by a computer. It's often called the "phonebook of the internet."

A spokesperson for the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN Business.
