The deal also includes team options for a remarkable three years, which is uncommon to say the least. Lind was under team control until 2013 anyway, so this deal essentially buys out his arbitration years at what seems to be a very team-friendly rate. Lind was outstanding in 2009, but isn't a sure thing yet. Still, if he performs the way many observers expect that he will going forward, this will be a very team-friendly deal.
