At least the under wasn't a bad beat. Game went over after 4 outs.

i think hendry still should be fired...

he could have signed ibanez or countless other outfielders...but choose to sign a slimeball like bradley...that move set the club back in a very bad way...on the field & off the field...

bradley's accusations this spring about cub fans...and the cub organization were slanderous...

byrd is a nice addition...but i think his pal rudy jaramillo was even bigger...

wow, what a hose job on that play....ball obviously came out, and instead of a run and a runner on 2nd or 3rd with no outs, its a double play THAT WASNT CAUGHT.....

ridiculous

That was bad. I mean he picked up the loose ball with his bare hand.

i cannot believe piniella did not get ran there...he acted like he really didn't give a shit...

that call probably just cost the cubs this game...as they were getting right back into it against lowe...w/the tying run at the plate & no outs!

what a steamy pile of horseshit call that was!

agree...i mean cubs have no one to blame but themselves and Zambo for giving up 8 runs and being behind...but that doesnt mean you should be cheated on a very important call...i mean that changed the whole inning, that was looking very good...wasnt like we're down 10 runs, it was only a 3 run deficit

[h=1]Mets give OF Marlon Byrd minor league contract[/h]Published:February 3, 2013 3:28AM
NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Mets have agreed to a minor league contract with outfielder Marlon Byrd, who served a 50-game suspension last season after testing positive in June for a performance enhancing drug while he was a free agent.
An NL All-Star in 2010, Byrd was traded from the Chicago Cubs to Boston Red Sox on April 21. Boston released him on June 12. Two weeks later, MLB announced he tested positive for Tamoxifen, which can reduce side effects of steroid use and increase testosterone.
Byrd hit .210 in 47 games for Boston and Chicago last season, and has hit .278 in 11 big league seasons with 82 homers and 445 RBIs.
The 35-year-old gives the Mets another potential option in the outfield, an area in which they are considered to be very weak. This offseason they cut ties with Jason Bay and lost center fielder Andres Torres, who signed with San Francisco, and Scott Hairston, who appears headed to the Cubs.
