1% to 5%, with 5% the max play which happens 1-3 times a year.

First play of the year.

1% Houston Astros, +125 (Roy Oswalt)

I'm by far the best at college football. No doubt about it, my other sports don't come close. Honestly I'm hitting over 60% in the NBA this year but I've played only like 35-40 games. I'm right at 50% in college baskets, basically mediocre and down money for the season.

I'm not a big baseball better historically so I'd tread lightly. I will use my same handicapping principles (try to isolate 'dogs) and pinpoint the sucker bets of the day. I've never really posted baseball plays though so this will be a bit of experiementation and I'll be playing most small plays in the early going while I get a better feel for the teams and the lines.

We'll see. I plan to give this a couple week shot and if it totally tanks I'll start tailing the better guys here and relax before the intense college football studying begins, which is obviously my favorite.

Loser to start the year. Seemed very chalky yesterday, happy I didn't play a lot of games, I'd likely have lost a bunch.

Not going to worry about the overall record here as I'll be playing mostly underdogs, trying to isolate some good spots to fade public favorites.

Likely to have 1 play on the card again today. I'm looking into two games in particular and will be back with my play.

I would take a shot on the Indians against the White Sox. Maybe run line, maybe with the price. I think the Indians can win this one behind a resurgent Fausto Carmona.

Hit with the Indians. Large dog here but I might be inclined to take a shot with the Cubs against the Braves. Randy Wells is a little bit of an enigma but big game for the Cubs early and I think Tommy Hanson, though ridiculously talented is being slightly overrated. We saw some growing pains with Clayton Kershaw yesterday and I think you'll see the same today for Hanson.

The Dodgers line looks a little sketchy to me. Everybody thinks they can't possibly go to 0-3, especially behind Billingsley who was really good in the first half of the season but this Pirates team is resurgent and better than people think. Garrett Jones is swinging a hot bat and they have some talented hitters in Clement, McCutchen, and Doumit to go along with him.

Paul Maholm is a solid lefty and the Dodgers lineup doesn't seem right.

I recommend taking a shot on the Pirates at home this afternoon.
