DJax - Early Season MLB Picks

Basically going to fade/follow a few teams based on my own expectations compared with what I perceive the public's to be. Last year I did this and it worked amazingly for 2 weeks before leveling out and I stopped it. So I'm going to run this through April 18 I think (give or take a day or two depending on how its doing). Obviously the most important thing is making correct assumptions about the teams I've selected...but theres no guarantee I'll pick them as well as I did last year in that sense.

All these plays will be for 1 unit (Risk 1 on dogs, to win 1 on favorites).

Monday's Picks
Giants RL -1.5 (+130)

**Rockies ML would have been a play if I posted this morning but I didnt get the chance...

Also I have a few other 'follow' teams but unfortunately theyre opening up vs each other so wont have as many plays until 2nd series of season.

Looks like its off to a good start again this year. Hopefully can get somewhere close to the success it had first 2 weeks last year. I'm going to count the Rockies as a W just for tracking purposes. I'm sorry I didnt get it in, but anyone who objects will see that I'm following them for the full two weeks unless something strange happens so you guys know I'm not just trying to steal a win in the record. I'm just doing this for my own tracking mostly (but conversation is welcome of course).

Backing Zito is very tough but that should be the last time since I'm not following Giants but fading Astros. I really think Astros will be terrible this year, even worse than peoples mediocre expectations.

Either way, I'm trying to capitalize on teams I think have good value right now (fade or follow) so gonna take them all 2 weeks and in the end be "plus" money I hope. There will be some I like that lose and some I hate that win so I just hope it works out in total. Anyway...it was a 1-1 night, + some juice. Cant complain picking 2 dogs.

Glad I chose to fade the Astros. Last year using this strategy I hit the Marlins as one of my follows (started 10-1, I believe) and I'm hoping the Astros "fade" will be my 2010 version of that for the first 2 weeks. It was my favorite selection for this strategy this season. They suck.

Fuck Ryan Franklin. Woulda been a nice solid 4-2 night to turn things around if not for that vagina. Instead, 3-3 and +0.05. And he gets credit for a solid 2-run save so he can make more money on his next contract. Ughhhhh
