Boxed Lunch Baseball Thread 2010

Took a year off and back for the 2010 season. Will post my past record ats shortly.

Couple of plays that stand out today:


Rockies / Brewers OVER 8.5 runs $260 (-130)
Two questionable pitchers, Smith is not really proven for the Rockies and posted a high ERA last year in Oakland. Not to mention he is a fly ball pitcher. Wolf, not real big on him also. Think the Brewers will come out and do a little better job with RISP today. 2 for 12 yesterday with some hard outs.

Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 runs $130 (+110)
Think the Rays come out strong this year, real hard team to beat at home along with a very offensive line-up. Think Baltimore got a little better also but just don't like them in this series. If the Rays win, its more than 2.

A split yesterday. Few plays I really like this morning:

Rockies ML $575 (-115)
Think Cook is getting a ton of value here, lets not forget he was the ace of the pitching staff a year back. He has always had sucess against the Brewers. Davis was 9-14 last year with Arizona with a ERA over 4. He also had trouble agains the Rockies posting a 10 ERA and losing all 3 starts last year.

Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 runs $286 (-110)
Coming back with the Rays to win by 2. Think yesterday was a wake up call for their offense and after facing a decent Millwood, they get Guthrie who is winless at Tropicana Field going 0-3 with a 5 ERA.

Cardinals ML $450 (-150)
Very good value in today's line with Wainwright on the mound. Cueto recently had some back issues the last week of Spring Training and has not gon over 4 innings all Spring. Think if Wainwright can pitch like he did last year, the bats will take care of the rest as they get into the Reds bullpen early.

New York Yankees Team Total OVER 4 runs $550 (-125)
Nice weather, bats are on fire and a stacked line-up makes this very tempting. These teams always play tough close games and I think it may be tough to throw Lackey in there and expect a low scoring game. Andy Pettitte is known for giving up a few runs here and there so expect the offense to come alive if the Yanks want to win this one.

White Sox's ML $310 (-155)
Going with Peavy at home, think the White Sox's will be a playoff team. I will go with him most of the time and against a no so solid Indians team. Not to mention Carmona was down in the minors last year for being very inconsistent. Take the Soxs!

Detroit Tigers ML $130 (-130)
Always was a fan of Scherzer even in Arizona, I think the Tigers have the right players in the line-up and will pose enough problems for the Royals today. Good value here.
