I'm talking the old days like say about 1980. let's say Milford Jai alai.

You bet cash between games.

Say finally you caught a quinella in game #9, you're into it for maybe $60 at this point....your "Q" pays $42.80.

The ticket seller/cashier counts out the $42, and the 8 "jai alai" dimes are kept real close to her breast.....you almost have to reach down her panties to get your 80 cents change ( like $2-3 in 1980).

Here's a great anecdote about Milford Jai Alai ( Opened in 1976 or 1977). They had "Telewager Girls" that would take your bet at your seat, and later deliver back your ticket. They were attractive, but I was like 13-14 at the time. Minors were allowed in then, but not supposed to gamble, a big 15 year old could bet ( me), even drink buy beer.

Many of these "Telewager Girls" were Hookers....working the big gamblers, in reality.

Jai alai was huge, and Milford unwittingly hired prostitutes to run bets to the window, lasted one year , I believe.

Girls worked the high rollers from NYC. I thought I was cool walking up to window at 14-15, and buying a ticket, then buying a beer at the bar.

I don't I can find a link for this fact, or the game fixing there circa 1978.

Real though.

When I go to the track (Gulfstream) or Jai Alai (Dania), I always go to the same clerk so when I win, I will always leave the change behind. It is bad luck to take those dimes.
