Wasn't the guy supposed to be a scumbag?????

It amazes me how much people think they know about a person ... when they really don't know jack shit.

  • Tigers Woods is classy
  • Bob Huggins is a scumbag

That is the public that we all have to deal with everyday ... in life and on the RX.

Spot on.
Not a fan of his recruiting ethics, or the way his teams play, but I am not naive enough to realize that almost all schools are dirty in some way, but that is the NCAA big business way.

Having said that, Huggins is a Morgantown local, born and raised, he bleeds everything that is West Virgina, how can you not respect a man that doesn't turn his back on his own, and does everything he can to help.

Say what you want about Manny, but he does the same thing for the poor people in Spanish Harlem in NYC.
Isn't Manny supposed to be a scum-bag also?

Great People

He says he wanted to help.

Mountaineer Head Basketball Coach Bob Huggins says, like many West Virginians, he could only follow the developments at the Upper Big Branch Mine in Raleigh County last week from afar.

"I watched it on TV and I read the accounts in the newspaper." Huggins says he wanted to do something so he called Governor Joe Manchin to see what he could possibly do.

"I knew he had been there from the beginning." That's why Huggins says he asked the Governor, "Would it (a visit) help or would I be a hindrance in any way? And he said, 'No, I think it would be great. I think it would be great for the people.'"

The Coach flew into Montcoal last Wednesday, just days after the Mountaineers played in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament, to visit with those waiting on word from the mine about their loved ones.

Huggins says he talked about a lot of things during his visit, but would not go into specifics on Tuesday's MetroNews Talkline. "The people were really great. They were fantastic, actually," he said.
