2 great cheap spots to check out.

Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast Casino. Best dim sum and Chinese food in Vegas.

Raku is a Japanese spot up on Spring Mtn Rd about 2.5 miles from strip. Amazing food. Not sushi, but the seafood is flown in daily. It is where every top visiting chef eats and they are open until 3am.

Actually, there a ton of good Asian places in the Spring Mountain Chinatown area.

Finding a $30 meal of quality at a major casino is a tough prop. Some spots worth trying are the Grill at Valentino at Venetian for some killer Italian food.

I don't do buffets, but the 2 at the Rio are always packed and I think they give you 2 for 1 coupons when you sign up for player card.

My favorite is Chipotle. One on corner of LV Blvd and (i think) Warm Springs, and another on S. Eastern. Get the Steak Fajita Burrito. Thank me later.

Hash House a Go Go on Rainbow and Sahara. Huge portions and very high quality food. Most ingredients are locally grown and the Fried Chicken and Waffles is the bomb. I believe they opened a 2nd spot in the Imperial Palace, but that place smells like a public bathroom that flooded. I'm sure the quality is not as good as original spot either.

Someone mentioned Rosemary's which is very good too. About 7 miles west of strip. There is a sushi place about the same distance on Desert Inn & Durango called Sen of Japan that is owned by a former head chef from Nobu. Similar menu, cheaper prices. Fish is as fresh as Nobu's too.

If you want to try something a little bit Different, kind of....Check out Stack at the Mirage.

Stack
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
American
3400 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas, NV 89109
$15 to $25
STACK offers a hip alternative to the many formal dining establishments in Las Vegas, presenting great food and service in a comfortable, modern setting. STACK is not your typical American steak house. In addition to steak, STACK offers classic items with a creative twist. The cheese-filled adult tater tots look like tots on steroids and the juicy pigs-in-a-blanket bring back happy childhood memories. For the main entrée, choose from different bone-in specials such as the cowboy steak, Brooklyn filet and the Kurabota pork chop or bone-out specials like the eye center-cut rib-eye, petite filet and NYC sirloin. All of these tasty specialties come with STACK's signature steak sauces. Or, try delectable dishes like the mammoth 44-ounce Magnum steak for two and the towering Surf & Turk Stack.
Attire: Casual.

So far I have narrowed them down to:

Ping Pang Pong
Rosemarys
Stack
Chitpotle
Scillian Cafe
Thai Spice
Black Bear Diner
Hash House a Go Go

I figure I'm there for 3.5 days so I'll try to hit up about 5 of these.....so far the only ones for sure:

1) Rosemarys - heard multiple people in this thread say good things
2) Stack - the uniqueness looks good.
3) ?
4) ?
5) ?

Me and the wife went there last year when we were out there for the bash.
Very good food, huge portions
