Anyone see value with Pittsburgh at +155? They are not your father's Pirates. Very young and talented and kind of remind me of the Devil Rays a few years ago.

I can see them winning tonight by beating up on a highly overrated Barry Zito.

Thoughts? :think2:

Until they show they can win on the road, i don't think so. They did beat Haren though. I agree that this team is starting to turn the corner.

pirates are 1-3 L4 and lost by 8, 8, 9 in those 3 games yet they're young and talented and have turned the corner?

only thing correct written above is they are certainly not my father's Pirates as those teams were winning divisions and world titles.

this team stinks. they literally have 1 field player, McCutchen, that would start for half the teams in MLB. Only difference b/w this year and each of the past 2 years is there won't be a summer clearance sale because they no longer have high priced veteran talent that other teams need.

Agree that people are going overboard by saying they've turned the corner etc., but I'm willing to throw a half unit down if my SD bet holds up. That's just the kind of bettor I am.
But who tf is this Burres guy that ESPN has listed as the pitcher? I thought Ohlendork was pitching??

Burres had an ERA over 14 last year, but only pitched 6 innings, however the 2 previous years he had a 6 ERA.. Hopign the Giants can pound him early and often. Go Giants!

Is this a joke? :think2:

Pittsburgh's Garrett Jones, who caused a brief stir with three homers and six RBIs in his first two games this season, has gone 2 for 15 since and is batting only .208. He was 0 for 5 Sunday.

No not a joke. You know what, Shane Victorino is hitting .161. Little early to pass judgement kid. Give him time he's got upside.
