I have something really similar. You will love the i3 combined with ddr3. It's ROCKET fast.

Windows 7 is REALLY stable.

all i have are 2 desktops . 1 at home and 1 at the office.

would be nice to have a laptop for travel and for kicking back on the couch doing illegal activities.

all i want is a laptop about 15 inches . for web , email , microsoft office and a few other downloadable programs.

wont be doing much else on it.

This.

I have an i3 laptop and an i7 dekstop and they both fly. Since I am a loser, I play Warcraft and they both play it spectacularly (60 FPS at near max settings) even though the graphic card in the laptop is basically half as good as the one I have in my desktop.

As for upgrading past 300 gigs for your HDD, that only depends on if this is your primary box. If not, then no, 300 is fine.

I wouldn't bother upgrading the harddrive if that's all you'll be doing on it. It's a good laptop for a decent price.

Yeah, the only time you need that big ass hard drive is if you want to hold pant loads of entertainment and media games music movies etc

320 should be fine

I could be wrong, but I think that's the exact same computer that my girlfriend bought about 3 months ago. She loves it -- hasn't had any issues with it and she watches a lot of TV shows and movies on it. I've used it a couple of times and one thing I would note is, for whatever reason, it seems to take a long time to boot up. I have a Dell laptop and mine boots up much faster than hers. Not a real big deal, just something I noticed when I used her comp. Not sure if all Toshiba's are that way?

For the uses you described, the Dell probably would be fine. That said, I'd go with the i3 processor as it will be more future-proof.

If it was bought 3 months ago, it might not be a i3 processor .

I have Only owned Toshiba Laptops, and I Love them.

When it comes to a Desktop, I Go Dell.

You could be right. I didn't look too closely at all the specs, I just know that it looks like the same computer, has the same screen size, etc.

I've never had a Dell desktop but my current laptop is a Dell (first Dell I've owned). To be honest, I want to throw this thing out the f'ing window. 3 months ago I had to take it in to replace the hard drive (which was only one year after owning it), and now I think either the fan is crapping out or, somehow, the "new" hard drive that was put in is going out as well. I should add that I have a part time gig that requires me to be on a computer about 5-8 hours a day, so I do use my laptop more than most people.

Oh, I almost forgot, last week I got a virus that locked up my computer, which I was eventually able to get rid of, but I still get Trojans showing up occasionally when I do scans. The virus/Trjoan thing isn't so much a Dell issue, but it's definitely a PC issue. Long story short -- I think I'm done with PCs from now on. Macs may cost more, but you just don't have to deal with all the BS that goes along with owning PCs.

I would spend the extra 100 bucks and get the one in the first post.

The other one you posted is definitely a step behind. No i3 and no ddr3 with that one.

Dual core starting to become a thing of the past
