Believe it or not Civil Lawsuits cost US Taxpayers plenty.

Civil lawsuits cost the US economy over 200 billion dollars per year! According to the US Federal News, every taxpayer in the US is now paying a “lawsuit tax” of around $700 – $800 per year. It is no surprise that personal injury lawyers are thriving in the States and that the law schools are packed to overflowing with potential new lawyers.

Example

Marcy Noriega, a California police officer decided to tase a suspect in the back of her car when he became uncontrollable and started kicking at the windows. Noriega drew her taser from her belt and fired it at the man. Unfortunately for the crook, the officer had accidentally drawn her gun instead, and she shot him in the chest – killing him. The city is now suing the taser company, arguing that any reasonable officer could mistakenly draw and shoot their gun instead of their taser. They are suing for the full costs of the wrongful death lawsuit which the man’s family has filed against the city.

But the wrongful death is correct....the family should sue that officer and get the maximum...ur in the back of a police car, and the cop uses deadly force...what a joke.

I have seen taser and hand guns and there is no way she mistaked the gun for a taser gun...JMO

I agree -- the families lawsuit for wrongful death against The LAPD or whatever Cal city is involved is IMHO legit. The bogus lawsuit is the cities' suit against the taser manufacturer.

Well, here in a small town just north of Columbus which was literally just about all cornfields about 10 years ago until they started jacking up $250,000-$300,000 houses (which are now worth about 60% of their original price, you would not believe how corrupt this ood-ole-boy court system is here. What's worth is that when you think of corrupt judges, lawyers so forth, you think one would bribe them with $$ and women. Here it is animals. I'm serious.
