a couple notes on today's card when I have time. I will usually try to offer some insight behind my plays, but it's the busy time of year for my business so I am usually tied up until after the games start. Anyways for today
Washington - Kendrick -200? no way. I will take my chances any time against that. Not to mention the Nats get Zimmerman back, and Rollins should be out for the Phils. Nats have been feisty and will most likely add in a 5inning play since I don't exactly trust their bullpen. I see some runs being scored here as well.
Chicago - Think Toronto is a bit over valued due to their hot start. They are NOT as good as they have been playing. Wells is performing like he did in his contract year, and their pitching has been solid. Still despite their poor record the ChiSox have a big edge on the mound with Danks. He was solid in the Spring and great in his first start. Morrow on the other hand isn't going to give you more then 5 innings, 6 tops, which will allow the Sox to go to work on the Jays pen. One of the Jays big bats, Aaron Hill is still out, so I like my chances.
Cleveland - I have Masterson as one of my under valued pitchers to start the season. I think this is going to be his break out year, and show exactly why they gave up Victor Martinez for him. He already got me the win in his first start of the season, and will continue to back him at under valued prices until he gives me a reason not to. I think the kid will be solid. CJ Wilson on the other hand is transferring from his role as a reliever last season. He is another guy i don't see giving more then 5 innings, allowing Cleveland to go to work on the Rangers pen. The Indians also get a boost with the return of Grady Seizmore, who is expected back after missing the last 2 games.
Florida - Chris Volstad is another starter I have my eye on. Another pitcher who I backed in his first start that gave a solid outting and a win. I also see a some what break out year for the strike out machine. His stuff is over powering and should give the light hitting Reds some problems. Homer Bailey is nothing to worry about, and looks to be more of a flop then front end starter. It already looks like we got good value on the Phins as the line is up to -28 at some places.
Mets - Another long shot who I think has a very good chance at getting the win. I like the lefty matching up against Colorado's left handed bats. One of those power left handed bats, Brad Hawpe, isn't even expected to play b/c of injury. Aaron Cook is more then hittable, and this is another one where hitting the opening line has paid off, as the Mets are down under +70 at most shops
