He scored 24 points on 8-of-23 shooting to go with six rebounds, four assists, and three steals, and missed 10 shots in row before securing the record in front of the home crowd at the foul line. He is the odds-on favorite to win the ROY award, and won the respect of his peers who often said he had "grown man moves."

The source here is a little suspect, but it's probably an accurate report anyway. The official announcement is expected on Thursday or Friday. Evans, of course, became just the fourth rookie to average 20 points, five rebounds and five assists as a rookie. Although Steph Curry was magnificent and the better fantasy player, he was likely hurt by the perception that his numbers were at least partially a product of coach Don Nelson's system.
