Any tips on this? Last night I win a nice parlay, in the $450 range, and immediately lose my winnings (and principal) playing blackjack at 5dimes. It's not like it's a ton of money to me, but it is enough that I notice when it's gone.

Anyone successfully change from a person who has impulse problems like this?

Block the Casino and you may one day collect some money.

Online blackjack is beatable for short terms... but don't fool yourself. It goes back to them 10 fold if you stay too long. 30 hands : 2 wins, 20 losses, 8 miracle dealer pushes... those type runs are in the cards and it is nightmarish when it happens. stay away.

appreciate the thoughts, but the bigger issue at hand is finding a way to reign-in my impulsive personality. has anyone had luck with this in their own lives?

Blocking the casino is the 1st step. Cutting your nuts off will stop you from having Tiger Woods issue. I would go with step one and then blow the money on a hooker.

I know this may seem silly... but if you have a "gamer" type personality (video games, computer games, etc...) you can substitute those type games for the impulse to do online blackjack. That has worked for me in the past. That and exercise.

That's not a bad idea at all - since moving out here I have been exercising a lot more (as I have more free time)... Not really into video/computer games, but yeah, maybe finding some other kind of competitive outlet. Thanks

Also try to manage your money like it is your own personal business... Would you take money that you made out of your personal business and head on over to the casino? Hopefully not... Always remember as entertaining as sports gambling is do not ever forget that this is a business and the object is to make money by reducing risk with smart investments/game selections and more importantly money management... Respect your bank roll and treat your selections as investments. It takes practice to become responsible enough to make the right investments at the right time and to manage your bank roll like you are running your own personal business... BOL
