I was at, and stayed for all of, the longest day in Wrigley Field history.
July 4th, 1994: the Rockies came to Wrigley Field to play a make-up doubleheader.
1st game started at Noon and ended about 2:46PM. Cubs came from behind to score 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win 4-3.
2nd game started at 3:16PM, endured 4 rain delays totaling over 2 hours, and went 15 innings for a 4-2 Rocks split.
Even Ron Santo was whining on the radio as another rain delay hit in the 14th, "It's just not fair!"
At some point during all the rain we moved from the left field bleachers to the covered bleachers area. By the end of the day, me, myself, my father, and my best friend were 4 of maybe 50-100 people left in the ballpark.
