This was not supposed to happen until after the draft.

Pittsburgh TV channels are now reporting that a decision is going to come prior to the draft from the commissioner.

I can only speculate about this, but this leads me to believe the Steelers are going to try to trade him and want everyone to know how long he will be suspended before acquiring him.

It also seems the Steelers are ok with rolling with Dixon (gulp!). I wish they wouldve signed Bulger though if they were planning on dealing Ben. I guesswe will see.

Wow, you're on it. This story hasn't reached all the major websites (NFL.com, ESPN, CBSsports.com) yet. It's just a f***** up situation all the way around. And of course, it really sucks for the Steelers and their fans. I'm not a Steelers fan, but I hate to see all this crap happen for all involved. You're obviously a Steelers fan. I'm kinda surprised you don't like Dixon. Doesn't compare to Big Ben of course as a QB, but I think he'll be pretty good if he turns out to be Pitts. QB. I think he's got a lot of talent.

I think it's bullshit if he gets suspended. If he wasn't charged with a crime, there's no reason to punish him with a fine and/or suspension.

If I were him, I'd have my lawyers suing the NFL.

I heard, but I don't have confirmation that Ben has been indeed suspended.
Need to do some digging.

Interesting take from a Giants fan. I think his punishment should be far more severe than Plaxico's. Plaxico didn't hurt/cause damage to anyone but himself. Granted Plax should have been punished, but not to that extent

I hear people say this all the time and it just doesn't make since to me. Let me ask you, do you need to be charged of a crime to get suspended at your job? I think not. I suspend employee's all the time for stuff as small as missing a day and not calling. He at the very least has made several stupid decisions. I mean just off the top of my head (not one but two women have accused him of sexual assult, and crashing a motor cycle when I belive it is in his contract he can't ride one and he didn't have a cycle license or a helmet on) It is perfectly within the right of the NFL or the Steelers to say, Hey Ben take a seat for a couple games it's time to learn a lesson.

the motorcycle clause was put in after he wrecked. there's no law stating you must wear a helmet in PA. the woman who accused him in vegas had a track record of accusing athletes for the same thing. not only that, but the bitch had a made-up military boyfriend, she's not quite with it.

Well, the big thing here is that this commisioner does not f--- around. He made it clear when he first came in that he wasn't going to put up with this kind of stuff. Being charged with a crime doesn't really seem to matter with this guy, right or wrong, that's just the way he rolls.

Yes you are correct and I'm not saying he is guilty of anything. What I'm saying is he is a certifiable F-ing moron. Look, if your a $102,000,000 athlete with $33,000,000 in guaranteed money and a $25,000,000 signing bonus you don't do stuff like he is doing. Sorry, when your that rich and famous you don't get to ride a motorcycle with no helmet, you can't have sex in the bathroom of a club with a 20 year old girl who is hammered. Oh and especially if another girl already accused you of sexual assult less than a year earlier. He flat out is stupid and Goodell has every right to say take a couple games off for being an idiot. It's called the NFL personal conduct policy.

he is not going anywhere. they want to put the issue to bed so they can have a draft on in prime time with out this hanging over it. that being said he is a moron that needs an attitude adjustment - hopefully a few games under suspension will do him some good. if not then good riddance.
(would hate to be wrong when i say it so matter of fact like)
