I'm pretty sure I've seen a thread for this before...but we are looking into Hawaii for our honeymoon. Can anyone either direct me to a past thread on this, or if you have any suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

We are looking to have a great time, mixing some hanging out with some activities and adventure. I'd definitely like to scuba dive, and we're open to any other ideas of things to do, places to go, and places to stay.

Thanks in advance.

The only thing about hawaii that sucks balls is that there is no nightlife.....visitors were surveyed and they all say there should be gambling in hawaii....we have some nightclubs (on oahu) and there isn't much else at night....although I assume honeymoon means sex at night instead of blackjack so that may not be a problem.

If you want shopping and city stuff (clubs, bars, etc.) to be included then oahu is the island.....if you are just in for a nice relaxing time (scuba, snorkeling, and other outdoor activities) then you might wanna look at maui or lanai city. If u wanna do that plus volcanoes, big island is the one.

Shdw01....do you enjoy living in Hawaii? Would you prefer living somewhere else? Even though I have been to Maui 3 times and enjoyed it immensely, I don't think I could live there...it is still part of the US...(<)<

Budget is about whatever it takes to have a great vacation. I would say I'd like to keep it under $6000 or $7000 total, but if it takes slightly more than that to do something we want to do...we'll be fine.

We will be there for 7-8 full days, and then one day for travel on both ends of the trip(so probably 7 days to do "stuff", and then 2 travel days).

Some things I would like to do...scuba, helicopter tour, I've seen a few people suggest the trip to Hana(I think that's what it was), waterfalls, beaches, possibly surfing, and open to any other suggestions.

Also, it seems that many people have suggested Maui to us. From the vacation booklet I have, I think Kauai seems very nice and has a lot of the activities that I want to do. Would it make sense to go to both islands for part of the trip? Or are the two islands fairly similar?

If you have the time and the money my suggestion would be Oahu and Maui. If you're coming all the way out here you gotta check out more than 1 island. For Oahu I would strongly encourage you to get a hotel in Waikiki. As for Maui anything on the west side will do(Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua)

been to maui twice. 1st time at the Fairmont and the 2nd at the Ritz. amazing time. second time around we rented a car and drove around, ate outside of the resort and just walked around. if you stay anywhere decent expect to spend like $80 a day for just breakfast.

if you have an amex platinum, they give nice perks for members. at the Ritz you get s a free upgrade, free night, late check out, free breakfast, and a $100 resort credit.

play around with tripadvisor.com. i don't travel without looking at the reviews. learned my lesson on a trip to NY one time when staying at a hotel "that seemed like a good deal".
